What if animals had superpowers?
In this four-week science adventure, students will meet some of the most extraordinary animals on Earth and discover the incredible adaptations that help them survive.
Each week, we’ll uncover a new animal “superpower.” Students will explore how animals use their bodies, senses, behaviors, and unique abilities to find food, avoid predators, communicate, and navigate their environments.
And there’s one more thing: the animals will be a surprise! Each week, students will begin with clues and questions before discovering which amazing creature we’ll be studying.
The Science Behind the Superpowers
This isn’t just a collection of cool animal facts. Students will be introduced to important ideas in biology and life science as they investigate questions like:
- How does an animal’s body help it survive?
- Why would an animal need to camouflage itself?
- How do animals use their senses to understand the world around them?
- How can an animal’s environment shape the adaptations it develops?
- What happens when an animal has an ability that other animals don’t?
- How does a particular adaptation give an animal an advantage?
Students will practice observation, questioning, prediction, discussion, and scientific thinking as they investigate each animal.
What We’ll Explore
Every week, we’ll meet an animal with an extraordinary ability and discover how that “superpower” helps it survive.
Our adventures will take us into the worlds of:
🐙 Camouflage and clever problem-solving
🦎 Specialized eyes and incredible hunting abilities
⚡ Electricity and sensing the world in the dark
🦐 Extraordinary vision and one of the fastest strikes in nature
But which animal comes first? That’s part of the adventure!
What Students Will Learn
Throughout the course, students will explore:
- Animal adaptations
- Camouflage and defense
- Senses and perception
- Predator and prey relationships
- How animals find food
- How animals interact with their environments
- How specialized body structures help animals survive
- The relationship between an animal’s abilities and its habitat
Most importantly, students will begin to see animals not simply as interesting creatures, but as living examples of how organisms are adapted to survive in their environments.
Who This Class Is For
This class is designed for curious learners ages 7–11 who love animals, science, and discovering things that seem almost impossible.
No previous science knowledge is required. Students simply need to bring their curiosity and a willingness to ask questions!
What We’ll Do Each Week
Each live class will follow the same basic scientific adventure:
Discover → Observe → Wonder → Investigate → Explain
We’ll start with clues and observations, make predictions, uncover the animal’s incredible ability, and then investigate the science behind it.
There will be plenty of opportunities for students to share ideas, ask questions, and challenge their thinking.

A Note to Parents
Children are naturally fascinated by animals. Animal Superpowers takes that fascination and uses it as a doorway into science.
Rather than simply memorizing facts, students will practice thinking like scientists. They’ll observe, ask questions, make predictions, look for explanations, and consider how an animal’s remarkable abilities connect to the problem of survival.
Because sometimes the best way to learn science is to start with a question:
“How in the world can an animal do THAT?”
